Weekly Menu vs Permanent Menu in Montreal: Which Pierina Path to Use

Weekly menu, permanent menu (opens 1 Oct) or catering from Pierina's Laval kitchen? Clocks, Sunday pickup and 50 km delivery around Montreal.

Good Food Brings People Together

By Pierina – Plats Maison Montréal 6 min read

Quick answer: Pierina – Plats Maison cooks homemade meals in a MAPAQ kitchen at 3954 Bd Leman, Laval (H7E 1A1) and sells them three ways. The weekly menu is a short, changing list — order by Wednesday 11:59 p.m. America/Montreal, pick up Sunday 4:00–7:00 p.m. only, or take delivery within about 50 km (Sunday if you choose it, or Wednesday 3:00–7:00 p.m.). The permanent menu opens 1 October 2026: year-round homemade meals, bowls and soups you can order any day, without that Wednesday cutoff. Drop-off catering is the third path — trays for offices and family tables across Greater Montreal. This guide tells you which door to use this week, after 1 October, and before Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday 12 October 2026.

Weekly menu vs permanent menu vs catering

Montreal does not need another 8 p.m. courier. It needs a kitchen that already cooked. Here is how the three Pierina paths differ — the same Laval stove, three order clocks.

PathWhat you getOrder clockBest for
Weekly menuA short homemade list that changes each Sunday (mains, soups, bowls)Order by Wednesday 11:59 p.m. Pickup Sunday 4:00–7:00 p.m. only. Delivery ~50 km, Sunday or Wednesday 3:00–7:00 p.m.Weeknight dinner for one, a couple, or a family of four in Laval, Montréal, the West Island, the North Shore or the South Shore
Permanent menu (from 1 Oct 2026)Year-round homemade meals, bowls and soups — the plates we keep on the stoveOrder any day. No Wednesday weekly-menu cutoffA favourite you do not want to wait for next Sunday’s list
CateringDrop-off trays and boxes from the same kitchen — not a banquet hall crewQuote and a dated appointment. Office hours Mon–Fri 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. are not the food windowOffice lunches, Thanksgiving tables, showers, 5 à 7, family gatherings

There is no subscription. You order the week you want to eat. Portions on the weekly menu are listed in grams (mains and bowls) or millilitres (soups) — never kilograms.

How the weekly homemade menu works from Laval

The weekly menu is the live list. Dishes are cooked in Laval for a Sunday prepared date. You choose Individual or, on most mains, Family (serves 4). Soups are a 900 ml pot. Bowls are a single portion. Pickup is Sunday only at the kitchen — the Wednesday pickup window closed in March. Delivery stays inside about 50 km of Boulevard Leman: Sunday if you tick it at checkout, or Wednesday 3:00–7:00 p.m.

That clock is the whole product. Miss Wednesday 11:59 p.m. and that Sunday’s list is closed. The next weekly menu opens on its own Wednesday. If you need food on a Thursday without planning, this is not same-day restaurant delivery — and we do not pretend it is.

The week of 4–9 October 2026 is already on the board: salmon Wellington, egg-roll stir fry, lemon ricotta pasta, chicken fajitas, Thai red curry, chili, three 900 ml soups, and three bowls. Check the live weekly menu before you share a screenshot — the list rotates.

What the permanent menu changes on 1 October 2026

Our Menu is the year-round homemade list. Until 1 October it shows a countdown. After that date you can order the standing meals, bowls and soups any day, without the weekly Wednesday lock. The kitchen is still Laval. The food is still homemade. The difference is the clock: a permanent plate does not wait for Sunday’s cook the way a weekly dish does.

Use the weekly menu when you want this Sunday’s list and you can hit Wednesday night. Use the permanent menu when you want a known plate on a Tuesday in Ahuntsic or a Friday in Pointe-Claire and you do not want to watch the weekly cutoff. Many households will use both — weekly for the Sunday drop, permanent for the mid-week favourite.

When the table is bigger than dinner: catering

A weekly family tray feeds four. A Thanksgiving table or a Downtown office lunch does not. That is corporate catering and drop-off catering: food from the same MAPAQ line, delivered or collected by appointment, without servers on your floor. Canadian Thanksgiving is Monday 12 October 2026 — if you want homemade trays for Laval, Longueuil, Brossard or the West Island, ask for a quote before the week fills. We are not a 150-person wedding hall and we do not run a pizza peel. We cook the food we would put on our own Sunday table.

Who this is for inside 50 km of the Laval kitchen

Delivery is not “Montreal-wide.” It is about 50 km from 3954 Bd Leman. That covers:

  • Laval: Duvernay, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Chomedey, Vimont, Laval-des-Rapides, Sainte-Dorothée, Fabreville, Sainte-Rose
  • Montréal: Ahuntsic–Cartierville, Saint-Laurent, Saint-Léonard, Montréal-Nord, Villeray, Rosemont, the Plateau edge, NDG, Côte-des-Neiges

  • North Shore: Terrebonne, Rosemère, Boisbriand, Blainville, Sainte-Thérèse, Saint-Eustache, Deux-Montagnes, Lorraine
  • South Shore: Longueuil, Brossard, Boucherville, Saint-Lambert, Greenfield Park

The city-by-city list lives on meal delivery zones around Montreal. If your pin is outside the circle, choose Sunday pickup in Laval or another kitchen.

FAQ: homemade meals Montreal & Laval

Is the permanent menu the same as the weekly menu?

No. The weekly menu rotates and locks Wednesday night. The permanent menu, from 1 October 2026, is the year-round list without that weekly cutoff. Both are cooked in Laval.

Can I pick up on Wednesday?

No. Weekly pickup is Sunday 4:00–7:00 p.m. only. Wednesday is a delivery window (3:00–7:00 p.m.), not a pickup window.

Do you deliver to the West Island and the South Shore?

Yes, when the address is within about 50 km of the Laval kitchen — including Pointe-Claire, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Longueuil and Brossard. Confirm the pin at checkout.

Is catering a subscription or a weekly order?

Neither. Catering is a quoted drop-off for a dated event. The weekly menu is a one-off cart. No subscription on either path.

Good food brings people together. If you want the homemade plate this Sunday, the weekly menu is open now. If you want the year-round list, 1 October is on the calendar. If the table is a gathering, ask the kitchen for trays.
